Well-travelled Tapa wins again!

Apr 06, 2018

She’s covered some miles since her win at Grafton back in February, having raced will at Murwillumbah and Ipswich, but the travel seems to agree with Tapa who recorded her third victory from only nine starts at Rockhampton today.

The victory took her stake-money tally passed $50,000.00!

Having her first start since the Ipswich outing on the 22nd March, Tapa jumped well off an inside gate with jockey Nathan Day was happy to take a sit behind the pace and found clear running toward the inside of the track as the field turned from home.

Hitting the front just inside the 400m the daughter of Excelebration had plenty of challengers to fend off in the last furlong – but she proved too strong and prevailed by a neck in a winning time of 1.11.68 (last 600m 35.81)

Her win capped off a good day for Healey Racing who prepared earlier winner, Kota Flyer to win on debut and Shudaputaringonit running a huge race at big price ($61) to finish second in the BM 60 Handicap.
